Multi-factor Authentication is an authentication method in which a system user is granted access only after successfully presenting two or more pieces of evidence (factors). These generally include something only the user knows (password) and something only the user has (a code generated by a personal device).
When using Multi-factor Authentication, the user must have access to an authentication app to generate a temporary code when logging into the system.

You will need to install an app on a personal device prior to enabling Multi-Factor Authentication for your database user account.
